Magpie Tales #17 Stone Face

The stone face screaming stood in there,

Greenery all around.

Tall ferns couldn’t soften the raw look.

Small white flowers at the base smiled, but not she.

Did she die like that?

Is that why she is cast in stone?

Horrible, horrible stare.

  1. Christine,
I too found her countenance disconcerting and wondered how/why, but you've described it perfectly!
    Nice magpie conjuring.

  3. I can imagine the flowers. Oh, and in one of those 'silent as the grave' gardens, where even bees don't dare buzz.
